Rangers supporters have had only limited chances to see Nsio in action for the senior side.
The 19-year-old midfielder made a single Scottish Premiership cameo against Dundee United last season and featured briefly in the Europa League, where he came on for the final minutes of the Gers’ 2-1 victory over Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
With first-team opportunities scarce, Rangers Academy announced on X (12 September) that Nsio will join Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers on loan for the rest of the season.
Crucially, before heading out, he committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract extension.
A pathway to future Ibrox involvement
The door may open for Nsio if he impresses during his loan spell. Raskin’s uncertain future and Joe Rothwell’s underwhelming form could create a midfield vacancy that the teenager might eventually fill.
Gaining regular minutes in men’s football at a competitive level will be vital for his development.
Raith Rovers, meanwhile, have made a strong start to their campaign, currently sitting joint-top of the Championship table with 10 points from five matches.
Both St Johnstone and Arbroath also share top spot, though St Johnstone still hold a game in hand.
For Nsio, Raith looks like the perfect environment to gain experience in a winning side with ambitions of promotion.
Should he contribute meaningfully to their push, his chances of returning to Ibrox with greater stature will only improve.
Russell Martin could then be ready to welcome back a more polished and confident young midfielder, potentially prepared for a bigger role in Rangers’ first-team picture next season.
