Report: Steve Cooper Eyes ‘Excellent’ Leeds United Player for Leicester City This Summer

Plenty are set to follow 59-time Finland star Glen Kamara out the door after his move to Rennes. Six players have now been sold, including Archie Gray, Kris Klaesson, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente, and Charlie Cresswell.
Junior Firpo could be next, with Real Betis pushing for a deal, while Rasmus Kristensen’s potential move to Frankfurt looks more likely to be a loan with an option to buy. Crysencio Summerville also remains in high demand.
One player now generating significant interest after a slow start to the summer is Italy star Wilfried Gnonto. Newcastle and Everton have been linked with him this week, with Everton confident of securing a £22m deal.
As many as 10 clubs want Gnonto, six in the Premier League
The number of clubs interested in signing Gnonto is substantial. Ten clubs are keen on him, with four from his home country eyeing a move to Serie A at some point in his career.
According to Caught Offside, Cesc Fabregas’ newly-promoted Como are interested, along with Juventus, Napoli, and Roma. The latter has a strong working relationship with Leeds, thanks to deals involving Llorente and Kristensen.
In the Premier League, six clubs are interested. Nottingham Forest have already made a £16.9m bid, which falls below Leeds’ valuation. Everton, Wolves, West Ham, Newcastle, and Steve Cooper’s Leicester are also keen.
Massive interest is only a good thing for Leeds this summer
It was always likely that both Gnonto and Summerville would leave, given their close relationship. Both are attracting enormous interest.
Described as “excellent” by Daniel Farke, Gnonto is reportedly valued at £25m according to Caught Offside. With 10 clubs interested, this can only help increase the price Leeds eventually receive.
If Leeds are planning for his exit, the best outcome would be a bidding war that drives his price higher. Any offer around £25m should be seriously considered by The 49ers this summer.
