West Ham United are reportedly showing strong interest in Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen ahead of the new season.

The 24-year-old could be on the move this summer as Leicester prepare for life in the Championship.

Hermansen has been linked with a transfer earlier this month, and according to Danish outlet Tipsbladet, West Ham may soon step up their pursuit.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio commented: “Mads Hermansen could be on his way to West Ham.

The club really likes him and it could be a good opportunity for him. I don’t think he’ll remain at Leicester, and West Ham could be the right destination.”

Despite having three years left on his current deal at the King Power Stadium, Hermansen could be sold, especially with Leicester already parting ways with two senior goalkeepers this summer.

That would leave last season’s group of four shot-stoppers reduced to just one.

Tipsbladet reports that Leicester are in a strong position to demand a substantial fee for the Denmark international, who joined the club from Brøndby two years ago.

Meanwhile, West Ham appear to be preparing for a goalkeeping shake-up, with veteran Lukasz Fabianski expected to leave and uncertainty surrounding Alphonse Areola’s long-term future.

Leicester players are set to return for pre-season training on Monday, though they will do so without a permanent manager following Ruud van Nistelrooy’s recent departure.

First-team coach Andy King and the fitness staff are expected to oversee sessions in the interim.

The Foxes’ first pre-season friendly is scheduled for next weekend, with the start of the 2025/26 Championship campaign just over a month away.

Several names have been linked with the vacant managerial role, including former Everton manager Sean Dyche and Sheffield Wednesday’sDanny Rohl.
