“Leicester City Star Will Alves’ SHOCKING ‘Freak’ Injury NIGHTMARE – Surgery Horror Revealed!”

Huddersfield loanee Will Alves sidelined for months after suffering a foot injury

Will Alves has been ruled out for several months after undergoing surgery on what Huddersfield Town described as a “freak” foot injury.

The Leicester City attacking midfielder, currently on loan at Huddersfield, had only made four appearances for the Terriers before the setback.

He was absent from the midweek cup clash with Manchester City, and on Friday, manager Lee Grant confirmed the 20-year-old faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Alves later took to social media to reveal that he had already gone under the knife. Grant admitted the news came as a huge disappointment for both the player and the squad.

“We are going to be without Will Alves for months rather than weeks, which is really disappointing,” the Huddersfield boss said. “It’s a real blow. He’s been so bright with his energy and his performances.

We’ve managed his minutes carefully, trying to limit his physical exposure, and then a freak injury like this happens. It’s tough for Will, tough for me, and tough for the team.”

Alves also shared his frustration, writing: “Gutted to be missing part of the season due to injury. I’ve had a successful operation and can’t wait to be back playing with the team soon.”

The youngster had made a memorable start to life at Huddersfield, scoring with his first touch on his league debut earlier this month.

He was handed his first start for the club last weekend and appeared set for a major role as the Terriers push for League One promotion.

His loan move was seen as a crucial chance to earn valuable senior minutes after a difficult period in his career.

Having lost an entire year of development due to an ACL injury, Alves spent the second half of last season on loan with Cardiff in the Championship.

However, with opportunities limited at Leicester under Marti Cifuentes, he opted for a switch to Huddersfield this summer to further his progress.
