Leicester City submit initial bid for attacking midfielder — Rejected, but negotiations continue.

A few days ago, we reported claims from Belgium suggesting that Leicester City were fully committed to signing Bilal El Khannouss from Genk.

The 20-year-old midfielder has often been linked with Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham, and Manchester City.

However, these rumors have not seemed particularly serious, and it appeared that the hype surrounding the player might have been overblown.

There hasn’t been a significant contest to sign the young attacking midfielder this summer, primarily because Genk’s asking price exceeds what many clubs are willing to pay.

Initial reports indicated that Leicester City was preparing to submit an offer in the range of £15-20 million.

It was also mentioned that personal terms had been agreed upon between El Khannouss and the club for a five-year contract.

Belgian journalist Bob Faesen, who specializes in covering Genk, clarified that Leicester City’s offer is actually between €15-20 million.

This likely means a base offer of €15 million, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses.

However, Faesen states that this offer is not sufficient for Genk, and negotiations have now begun between the two clubs.
