Ange Postecoglou Plans to Keep Key 27-Year-Old at Tottenham This Summer

The Mali international, who was utilized in a midfield role alongside Pape Matar Sarr last season, has established a strong partnership with the Senegalese player at Tottenham.

Both are expected to retain their positions for the upcoming season, and as a result, Tottenham has no intention of selling Bissouma.

According to Football Insider, manager Ange Postecoglou has been impressed with Bissouma’s performance in pre-season and has significant plans for him moving forward.

Bissouma will aim to make an impact next season as he seeks a new and improved contract, with his current deal running until 2026.

The arrival of Archie Gray has also intensified competition in the midfield, as the young English talent is considered a major prospect for the future.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is nearing a £17 million move to Marseille, though he will initially join the French club on loan. Meanwhile, Oliver Skipp’s future at Tottenham is uncertain.

This could result in significant changes to Tottenham’s midfield options for the new season, but Bissouma is set to be a key figure.

Since joining Tottenham from Brighton in the summer of 2022, Bissouma’s first season was underwhelming. However, he demonstrated his potential last season. The 27-year-old played 28 Premier League games for Spurs, missing only ten matches due to injury, suspension, or international duties.

Bissouma is a favored player under Postecoglou, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham offers him a new contract in the near future.
