Two Leicester City Youngsters Complete Loan Moves
Brandon Cover Returns to League Two After Being Recalled from Impressive Port Vale Loan Due to Reduced Game-Time Opportunities
Leicester City right-back Brandon Cover is set for another spell in League Two after completing a loan move to Fleetwood Town.
The 21-year-old impressed during the first half of the season at Port Vale, but with injured players returning, his game time was expected to diminish. As a result, Leicester recalled him earlier this month.
Now, Cover has secured a move to Fleetwood, where he will stay until the end of the season. The club currently sits 12th in the league, nine points away from the play-offs.
Cover made his senior debut for Leicester under Enzo Maresca last season and has been seeking more regular minutes this campaign.
Although he initially came through the ranks as a defensive midfielder, he has recently been deployed as a right-back and even played as a wing-back for Port Vale.
He becomes the second Leicester player to leave on loan today, following fellow defender Ben Grist, who has joined Worksop Town until the season’s end.
The 20-year-old will gain his first experience of senior football as he helps Worksop push for promotion to the National League North.
Further loan deals could still happen before Monday’s transfer deadline, with Leicester looking to provide valuable experience to their young talents.
Will Alves is expected to join Cardiff City in the Championship, marking his first loan spell away from Leicester.
