Leicester City’s Transfer Situation: Five Signings Needed to Meet Steve Cooper’s Requirements

Improving the attack is a key priority, but City’s strategy seems broad rather than targeting specific positions.

Cooper stated, “It’s not as clear as saying we need this position, that position. We need certain profiles and attributes to add to the squad.”

Bobby De Cordova-Reid could be a good fit for this approach. The Jamaica international is versatile, able to play wide, behind the striker, or up front.

During pre-season, players like Stephy Mavididi have been used in central roles, and Abdul Fatawu has been played on the left.

Leicester has also shown interest in Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew, who can fill various attacking roles.

Many of the linked players are wingers, indicating that ball-carrying and quick transitions might be crucial for Cooper’s strategy as they anticipate being pushed back by opponents.

Despite these exciting links, no deals have materialized yet. Juventus’s Matias Soule opted for Roma instead of City, and discussions with Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson are unlikely to proceed, as sources suggest his cost exceeds the club’s budget.
