“Newcastle on the Verge of SHOCKING Mega-Deal to Snag WORLD-CLASS Superstar Forward!”

Newcastle United are reportedly progressing in their pursuit of Brighton forward Joao Pedro, according to iNews.

Having secured Champions League football for the second time in three seasons and ended their 70-year trophy drought by winning the 2024/25 Carabao Cup, the Magpies are determined to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Manager Eddie Howe has identified Brazilian star Pedro as a key target. Talks between Newcastle and Brighton are said to be “advancing,” as the Tyneside club looks to push through a deal worth approximately £60 million.

Pedro, previously hailed as an “absolute superstar,” is expected to leave the AMEX Stadium following a training ground clash with teammate Jan Paul Van Hecke.

The incident led to his exclusion from Brighton’s squad for their final two matches of the season.

Newcastle are optimistic about completing the transfer, especially as Pedro is open to a switch and reportedly willing to play on the right wing.

That flexibility could allow Howe to craft a dynamic frontline with Pedro joining Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Despite facing competition from Chelsea, Newcastle hope to finalise the signing before the Blues make a formal approach.

Their urgency has grown after missing out on Bryan Mbeumo, who is now set to join Manchester United instead.

With Newcastle aiming to accelerate their transfer activity in the coming week, a deal for the 23-year-old Pedro appears increasingly likely.
