Leicester City may not be content with their current Danish defensive lineup and are reportedly pursuing another Nordic talent to bolster their backline.
The Foxes have identified a centre-back as a priority for the January transfer window and are now linked with Udinese’s towering defender Thomas Kristensen.
According to Messaggero Veneto, Leicester have inquired about the availability of the 22-year-old, who stands at an imposing 6ft 6in.
Kristensen, despite being limited to eight appearances this season due to injuries, is a reliable starter when fit.
He featured for the full 90 minutes in Udinese’s goalless draw against Hellas Verona last weekend.
Reports suggest the Serie A club would consider selling the defender if their €16.5m (£13.7m) valuation is met.
If signed, Kristensen would become Leicester’s third Danish defender, joining Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen.
However, unlike his compatriots, he has yet to break into Denmark’s senior squad, currently representing the Under-21s in qualifiers for upcoming tournaments.
Known for his aerial prowess, Kristensen boasts the best headed duel success rate in Serie A this season and demonstrates solid long-range passing ability.
Leicester have been linked with several centre-backs this transfer window, but alternative targets appear to be heading elsewhere.
Valentin Gomez, a title-winner with Velez Sarsfield in Argentina, had expressed interest in continuing his career in Europe but now seems set to join Brazilian side Cruzeiro, according to reports from South America.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have entered the race for Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov, an Uzbek international previously linked with Spurs, Newcastle, and Leicester.
West Ham Competing for City-Linked Forwards
Leicester’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements also faces competition.
The Foxes have been linked with Brighton’s Evan Ferguson this month, though a loan deal is currently blocked due to Facundo Buonanotte’s temporary move.
They are also reportedly interested in Middlesbrough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath.
However, The Telegraph reports that West Ham has made signing a striker a priority, with injuries sidelining Michail Antonio and top scorer Jarrod Bowen.
The Hammers are now linked with both Ferguson and Latte Lath, potentially complicating Leicester’s plans.
