Leicester to Compete with Premier League Rivals for £25m+ “High Quality” Iheanacho Replacement

With numerous senior attacking players leaving Leicester City this summer, the Foxes are actively seeking new talents to bolster Steve Cooper’s side.

The Foxes’ Hunt for Forward Players

Last season, Leicester successfully restored their Premier League status at the first attempt, but they will return to the top flight without some key players.

The most significant departure is Kelechi Iheanacho, who left the King Power Stadium at the end of his contract last month. The Nigerian striker, now a free agent, is expected to join Sevilla.

Another probable exit is striker Tom Cannon, linked with a loan move back to the second tier. Rumors suggest West Bromwich Albion is a likely destination for the Irishman as they look to replace the departing Brandon-Thomas Asante.

To address the gaps in their attacking lineup, Leicester have been linked with out-of-favor Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Cooper’s side has opened talks for an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

Leicester’s Pursuit of Elye Wahi

Beyond Nelson, Leicester are also in the market for a new center forward. Reports from the French press, relayed by the Leicester Mercury, indicate that the Foxes have initiated the process to sign Lens striker Elye Wahi.

Leicester will face competition from West Ham and Chelsea for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Lens is reportedly willing to sell Wahi despite acquiring him less than a year ago for £25 million from Montpellier.

Given his performances, it’s expected that he will command a higher fee if he departs this summer.

Over the last season, Wahi scored twelve goals, including two in Lens’ Champions League campaign. Lens coach Franck Haise praised the young striker, saying, “I was telling you that he was on the right path.

He got here a month and a half ago and he’s been making big strides. He scored the winner in Strasbourg last Friday and again tonight. He is showing that he is a high-quality striker.”

With several of Leicester’s attacking options set to leave, securing Wahi could be a significant statement.
