BOMBSHELL ALERT: IT’S ALL OVER! “No Longer Happening” – Romano Drops THURSDAY Hammer on Tonali to Spurs as Newcastle Race Completely COLLAPSES! Fans in absolute meltdown

Tottenham Intensify Pursuit of Fernandes and Tonali

Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to strengthen their squad this summer, with midfield reinforcements now a major priority after completing the signing of veteran goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer.

One of Spurs’ leading targets is Mateus Fernandes, who impressed despite West Ham United’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

The 21-year-old has attracted interest from Manchester United, but Tottenham are increasingly confident they can win the race for his signature.

West Ham are expected to demand a package worth around £85 million, and Spurs appear willing to push ahead with negotiations.

While working on transfer business, Tottenham have also decided to delay the appointment of a new sporting director until after the summer window.

Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham reportedly informed the club’s Fan Advisory Board that strengthening Roberto De Zerbi’s squad currently takes precedence over restructuring the club’s executive team.

This follows the departure of former sporting director Fabio Paratici earlier this year.

Alongside Fernandes, Tottenham remain heavily interested in Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs are now the only serious contenders for the Italian international after other interested clubs cooled their pursuit.

Tonali had previously been linked with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United, but Romano suggests those clubs are no longer actively involved.

The midfielder and his representatives are believed to be open to a move away from Newcastle this summer, leaving Tottenham in a strong position if they decide to meet the Magpies’ valuation.

However, securing Tonali will not be straightforward. Tottenham have already seen an £80 million offer rejected, with Newcastle reportedly holding out for a fee closer to £100 million.

Despite the significant transfer cost, his current salary of around £120,000 per week would fit comfortably within Spurs’ wage structure.

Tonali’s qualities have been praised by Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes, who described him as an “unbelievable player” and highlighted his professionalism, leadership and ability to adapt following his gambling suspension.

Guimaraes also noted that the pair complement each other perfectly in midfield, underlining why Tottenham view Tonali as a transformative addition capable of elevating De Zerbi’s new-look side.
