West Ham United Prepare £16.7m Bid for New Attacker – Report
West Ham Preparing £16.7 Million Bid for Ajax Star Steven Bergwijn, Reports CaughtOffside

According to CaughtOffside, West Ham United are preparing a £16.7 million bid for Ajax star Steven Bergwijn. However, this initial offer might fall short, as Ajax could demand up to £29.3 million for the Netherlands international.
West Ham United are eyeing Steven Bergwijn for their next transfer. The Hammers struggled with their strikers last season, with Michail Antonio and Danny Ings failing to reach double figures in goals. Fortunately, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen stepped up, helping David Moyes’ team to a ninth-place finish.
In response, manager Julen Lopetegui has already taken action by signing Brazilian starlet Luis Guilherme, according to The Athletic (13 June). Guilherme, who can play on either wing, will help reduce the burden on Kudus and Bowen, with more signings potentially on the horizon.
While Bergwijn’s previous Premier League stint at Tottenham didn’t go as planned, he could be the solution West Ham need. The club has been linked to numerous attackers, but Bergwijn’s name consistently reappears, as reported by De Telegraaf (13 July).
Capable of playing across the front three, Bergwijn would likely become the new focal point in West Ham’s attack at the London Stadium.
