Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to accelerate their pursuit of Brentford manager Thomas Frank by also targeting a move for forward Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo has been strongly linked with a transfer to Manchester United and is said to have already agreed personal terms on a five-year deal.

However, Brentford are holding firm on their £60 million valuation, having turned down United’s opening bid of £55 million.

The 25-year-old Cameroonian international has just one year left on his current contract.

Tottenham could step in to hijack United’s move if they proceed with replacing Ange Postecoglou with Thomas Frank.

The Danish coach is the current frontrunner for the Spurs job and may be tempted to end his seven-year spell at Brentford.

According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, Tottenham remain interested in Mbeumo, even as his transfer to Old Trafford edges closer.

The Brentford star reportedly turned down offers from Newcastle United and Arsenal—both Champions League clubs—in favour of joining Erik ten Hag’s side.

However, Spurs could emerge as serious contenders if they secure Frank’s services.

Club chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly prepared to meet the £10 million compensation package required to bring Frank and his backroom staff to North London.

If that deal goes through, Tottenham may quickly follow it up with a bid for Mbeumo.

With Champions League football secured after their Europa League final win over United, Spurs could offer Mbeumo an attractive alternative—along with a reunion with the manager instrumental in his development.

Frank has consistently praised Mbeumo, once calling him “unplayable” after a standout performance in a 4-2 win against Newcastle last December.

Mbeumo joined Brentford shortly after Frank took charge and has since become one of the club’s best signings.

He finished last season with 20 goals, earning a joint-fourth place in the Premier League Golden Boot race.
