Exclusive: West Ham United Prepared to Sell Mohammed Kudus Amid Premier League Interest
West Ham United are nearing their Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) limit, meaning player sales are necessary to free up funds for Graham Potter and the recruitment team to reshape the squad.
Mohammed Kudus is regarded as the club’s most valuable asset, while fellow star Jarrod Bowen has been deemed ‘unsellable.’
Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa have all shown previous interest in Kudus, one of West Ham’s standout performers.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian international is open to a move, and his contract includes an £85 million release clause this summer.
However, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey reports that no Premier League club is willing to meet that price.
The Saudi Pro League is showing significant interest in Kudus and is the only competition considering an offer close to his release clause, something no European club is prepared to do.
Arsenal held talks with intermediaries regarding Kudus in January, but a summer transfer now seems unlikely.
Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle, and Aston Villa also explored the possibility of signing him but would not match his clause.
Kudus, who has made 72 appearances for West Ham, is reportedly open to a move to Saudi Arabia.
His teammate Michail Antonio previously praised him, telling Joy Sports:
“The guy is unbelievable. Some of the tricks he does in training and games… you can’t get the ball off him!”
Beyond Kudus, West Ham may also consider selling Edson Álvarez. The Mexico international, who has made 68 appearances since joining from Ajax in 2023, has attracted interest from Monaco and Borussia Dortmund.
West Ham’s financial constraints mean they must offload players to generate funds for squad improvements.
While Bowen remains untouchable, Kudus could depart if a suitable offer arises, particularly from Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Álvarez’s future remains uncertain, with European clubs monitoring his situation.
As the summer transfer window approaches, West Ham’s squad overhaul depends on potential departures, with Kudus and Álvarez emerging as key candidates for exits.
