Rangers Eye Nike-Sponsored Forward After Securing Aasgaard Deal

Glasgow Rangers are preparing a move for another attacking addition, targeting Nike-sponsored forward Weslley Patati, following the confirmed signing of Thelo Aasgaard.

Aasgaard Signs Four-Year Deal at Ibrox

Rangers, under the guidance of new manager Russell Martin and the club’s owners 49ers Enterprises, have continued their summer rebuild with the acquisition of Aasgaard from Luton Town.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has joined on a four-year deal, with Rangers paying around £3.5 million for his services.

After completing his switch to Scotland, Aasgaard shared his excitement:

Rangers Ready to Launch Bid for Patati

According to updates relayed by Ibrox News, Rangers are expected to submit a formal bid for Brazilian forward Weslley Patati, who currently plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The 21-year-old winger is reportedly valued at over £8 million and has caught the attention of Rangers with his standout performances last season.

Patati, a naturally left-footed right winger, can also feature on the opposite flank or in a central attacking role.

Despite his young age, he is already backed by Nike and carries a Transfermarkt valuation of €2.5 million.

Having joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023, he is under contract until 2027 and helped his side win the Israeli Premier League in 2024/25, posting double figures for both goals and assists.

Given Rangers’ current wing options — Oscar Cortes, Rabbi Matondo, and Ross McCausland — the addition of Patati would add much-needed depth and versatility to the squad.
