Report: Everton in discussions with agent of ex-Premier League star with 79 appearances

With deadline day looming, Everton remain without a new signing.

The Friedkin Group has acknowledged the need to operate on a cautious budget due to ongoing PSR issues.

However, this is expected to change in the summer when a new financial year begins at the end of June.

For now, any reinforcements for David Moyes’ squad will require funds raised through player sales.

One potential departure is Beto, who could move to Italy if Torino meets Everton’s £15 million valuation for the towering center-forward.

Should this deal materialize, Everton could expedite their pursuit of several targets.

In line with this, a fresh rumor has emerged regarding discussions with a former Premier League star.

Everton in Talks with Emerson Royal’s Agent

Italian outlet CalcioMercato reports that Everton has engaged in discussions with the agent of Emerson Royal this month.

The club is in the market for a right-back to replace Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young, both of whom are out of contract in the summer.

Fulham has also shown interest, but it appears Emerson’s agent is actively offering him to potential suitors.

Everton, however, is not believed to have significant interest in Emerson.

Instead, the former Tottenham defender is reportedly closer to joining Galatasaray, who have already proposed a loan deal with a purchase option of approximately £12.6 million.

Emerson, who made 79 Premier League appearances before moving to AC Milan last summer, seems more likely to head to Turkey.

Everton’s Current Right-Back Options

For now, Everton has sufficient depth at right-back. Ashley Young, Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, and James Garner have all filled the role this season.

Although the likely summer departures of Young and Coleman will necessitate investment in a new right-back, prioritizing that position in the current transfer window is unnecessary.

Instead, Everton should focus their limited funds on strengthening their attack.
