West Ham’s £25m Signing Could Benefit Newcastle United – Opinion

West Ham United’s Strong Transfer Activity This Summer Could Make Them a Major Force in the Premier League Next Season

West Ham secured the signing of Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville on Saturday for £25 million, overcoming significant competition.

Newcastle United is also pursuing major deals, including a move for Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, and is looking to add a winger before the transfer window closes.

Newcastle’s interest in Summerville, who was also linked with them, might actually benefit them.

Earlier this summer, Newcastle was rumored to be interested in West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen but was told Bowen was not for sale.

With Summerville now on board, it appears West Ham might be open to letting Bowen go, although they would likely demand a substantial fee.

If Newcastle has been targeting Guehi, willing to set a new transfer record for him, it’s possible they were also considering Bowen as part of their long-term plans. However, this is speculative.

There’s no concrete evidence to support this theory, and it seems unlikely Newcastle would break their transfer record twice in one window, especially for a 27-year-old.

While it’s a fun notion to imagine Newcastle making a significant bid for Bowen, it remains a fantasy at this stage.

As we’ve joked in the office, if we can’t send Eddie Howe to England, we might as well bring England’s top players to him.
