Marc Marquez Reveals Secret to Stunning Catalunya MotoGP Podium Finish
Marc Marquez delivered a jaw-dropping performance at the Catalunya MotoGP, transforming a difficult start into a sensational third-place finish. Starting from 14th on the grid, Marquez showcased his resilience and skill, ultimately holding off Aleix Espargaro despite a deteriorating soft rear tyre.
Marquez’s impressive race pace throughout the weekend was evident, but it was his strategic decision-making and adaptability that truly set him apart. One of the keys to his success was his ability to analyze and learn from his competitors, particularly Ducati riders Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin.
“On Saturday, he had better tyre consumption and then when you have fast riders you copy, and that’s it,” Marquez explained, referring to Bagnaia. The decision to adopt Bagnaia’s tyre strategy played a significant role in Marquez’s ability to maintain pace and secure a podium finish.
Marquez acknowledged the challenges of being in his first year with the Ducati bike, noting the difficulty of adapting his riding style to a new machine. “Every circuit you can check a bit what they did last year, but with your riding style, it is different. When we start and have some problems, we are always delayed,” he said.
Despite these challenges, Marquez’s determination and willingness to learn from his rivals paid off. “On Saturday morning, I tried something that helped me a lot to go in the direction of the other Ducatis. That gave me the pace, but now we need to understand how to make the time attack and how to avoid that front-end push,” he added.
