Brendan Rodgers and Celtic have made a trio of loan acquisitions this season, the latest being Adam Idah from Norwich City on the final day of the January transfer window. Despite interest from Serie A and the English Championship, Celtic secured the Irishman’s services until the season’s end, with no option for a permanent transfer included in the agreement.
Last summer, Rodgers brought in two temporary signings, one of whom was Nat Phillips, borrowed from his former club Liverpool. However, Phillips made just eight appearances in the first half of the season before being recalled to Anfield and subsequently loaned to Cardiff.
Paulo Bernardo joined on deadline day in September from Benfica on a season-long loan, with a purchase option included in the deal. Recent reports shed light on key details regarding this option and the player’s future at Celtic.
According to The Daily Record, via Sports View, Benfica has informed Celtic that they can secure Bernardo’s permanent transfer for a fee of £6 million at the end of the season, positioning the Scottish club as the frontrunner for his signature.
