Michail Antonio Undergoes Surgery After Accident

Michail Antonio Undergoes Leg Surgery Following Saturday’s Car Crash

Jamaican international Michail Antonio was involved in a serious road traffic accident in Epping, which required Essex Fire Services to cut him free from his vehicle.

Antonio was rushed to the hospital immediately following the incident and underwent surgery on a lower limb fracture yesterday due to injuries sustained in the crash.

West Ham United issued a statement expressing gratitude to the emergency responders and providing an update on Antonio’s condition:

“West Ham United can confirm Michail Antonio has undergone surgery on a lower limb fracture following a road traffic accident on Saturday afternoon.

Michail will continue to be monitored in hospital over the coming days.

“Everyone at the club wishes Michail a speedy recovery and wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the football family at large for the overwhelming support shown since yesterday’s news.

“As well as extending a heartfelt thank you to the emergency services and first responders who attended to Michail in the immediate aftermath of the incident, and the medical team who continue to aid him in his recovery.”

Although initial reports suggested Antonio’s injuries might be life-threatening, these fears were thankfully unfounded.

However, the 34-year-old forward is unlikely to play again this season as he continues his recovery.

West Ham and the football community at large remain hopeful for his return to full health.
