The situation worsened when Iliman Ndiaye left the pitch around the 60th minute due to an injury, with Dyche later confirming it was a precautionary substitution.
A key incident in the game involved Beto and Southampton’s Jan Bednarek, where Beto was brought down just outside the box.
Dyche felt this was a clear red card, but not everyone agreed.
Micah Richards and Joe Hart, analyzing the match on BBC’s Match of the Day, had different views.
They both believed a yellow card was the correct decision, as another Southampton defender provided cover.

Richards commented: “I get why Dyche isn’t happy, but I think there’s cover around. Harwood-Bellis is there; a yellow card was the right decision.”

Despite a seeming improvement under Dyche, Everton’s form has declined over the last two games, raising concerns.
Dyche’s reliance on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane is also a worry; Beto has had minimal service, and Jarrad Branthwaite has seen little game time recently.
It may be time for Dyche to rethink his approach, as sticking to the current lineup could lead to further trouble.
