West Ham eye international goalscorer amid growing concerns over Niclas Fullkrug – report

West Ham United are reportedly still tracking Norway international Alex Sorloth after expressing interest in the summer, according to the newspaper’s Sunday edition (13 October, pg 74).

Scouts from the club were present to watch the 28-year-old striker score in Norway’s 3-0 victory over Slovenia on Thursday (10 October).

This renewed interest comes as concerns grow over summer signing Niclas Fullkrug, who is currently sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury.

Fullkrug has only played 63 minutes of Premier League football so far, leading West Ham to revisit their interest in Sorloth, who chose to join Atletico Madrid over them in August.

Sorloth has contributed one goal and two assists in nine La Liga matches (six starts) for Atletico this season.

West Ham’s rekindled interest may indicate positive signals from Sorloth’s camp about a potential future move.

At 28, Sorloth is in his prime, compared to West Ham’s current strikers—Fullkrug, Michail Antonio, and Danny Ings—who are all in their 30s.

The Hammers could benefit from his addition, as their forward line has managed just two goals across competitions so far this season.

Sorloth might also be keen to prove himself in the Premier League, after struggling during his previous stint with Crystal Palace between 2018 and 2020.
