Negotiations in Progress: Everton Aiming to Secure “Outstanding” £30k-per-week Premier League Star Before Friday

Everton are currently in discussions to sign an “outstanding” Premier League player on loan, potentially replacing Neal Maupay.

Everton’s Transfer Situation

The Blues have started the season in a challenging position, suffering two heavy defeats in their opening league matches—first at home against Brighton and then away to Tottenham.

Manager Sean Dyche is facing mounting pressure due to the team’s poor performances, and fans have expressed their frustration, even confronting players at the train station following the loss to Spurs.

Dyche may believe that additional signings are essential before the transfer window closes on Friday.

However, it remains uncertain whether the club’s owners are willing to invest in bringing in new talent.

Despite this, there are some encouraging rumors circulating that could offer fans a glimmer of hope.

Everton have reportedly made a late move to sign Sevilla right-back Gonzalo Montiel, who was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season.

Montiel is best known for scoring the decisive penalty for Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final shootout against France.

Additionally, the Toffees have received a boost in their pursuit of Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

Ipswich Town’s move for Broja is reportedly on the brink of collapse, which could increase Everton’s chances of signing him.

It remains to be seen if Everton will push to secure his services in the coming days, but their prospects have slightly improved.

Targeting an “Outstanding” Premier League Talent on Loan

According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, Everton have “held talks” with Chelsea regarding a loan deal for forward David Datro Fofana.

The report indicates that “work is being done on deals behind the scenes” to acquire the £30,000-a-week Ivorian.

At the same time, Everton are looking to “move on Maupay,” especially after he criticized his own supporters on social media following the incident at the train station.

Fofana could provide a valuable attacking option for Dyche, particularly given Everton’s lack of goals in their first two Premier League matches.

Although a loan deal would be temporary, the 21-year-old might be eager to prove his worth to Chelsea, which could also benefit Everton.

Fofana is a promising young attacker, and his potential was recognized by Vincent Kompany during their time together at Burnley last season:

“We will need performances like the performance he gave against West Ham. He was outstanding.

The entire performance from Fofana was outstanding and we’ve needed it. Hopefully, he can continue like that from now until the end of the season.”

Fofana scored four goals in just 10 league starts for Burnley, demonstrating his attacking prowess.

He is also a three-cap Ivory Coast Under-21 international, having scored once during that time.

His addition could provide Everton with much-needed firepower as they look to turn their season around.
