NEWCASTLE JUST GOT THE GREEN LIGHT TO UNLEASH AN ABSOLUTE BEAST MODE QUALITY THAT NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN BEFORE – AND EDDIE HOWE ALREADY DROPPED A CHILLING, SUBTLE WARNING TO EVERTON THAT HAS GOODISON SHAKING! “YOU HAVEN’T FACED THIS VERSION YET…” – THE PREMIER LEAGUE IS OFFICIALLY NOT READY FOR WHAT’S COMING!
Miley sets up Newcastle’s opener at Everton before adding the second himself

Lewis Miley vindicated Eddie Howe’s pre-match comments with a standout display in Newcastle United’s 4-1 victory over Everton.
Although Miley had filled in at right-back during the midweek loss to Marseille, Howe made it clear he viewed the teenager primarily as a central midfielder and did not want to hinder his development.
Even so, he hinted that Miley possessed the technical qualities to adapt to different roles when needed.
That assessment was quickly justified. Just 55 seconds into Newcastle’s first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Miley’s dangerous in-swinging corner forced Malick Thiaw to head into his own net, immediately quietening the home crowd.
Starting in midfield in place of Sandro Tonali, Miley knew he had to seize the opportunity amid fierce competition for places — and he did so emphatically.
His influence grew as he doubled Newcastle’s lead, reacting quickest after Dan Burn redirected Tino Livramento’s miscued shot.
Miley’s left-footed effort slipped through Jordan Pickford’s hands, placing Newcastle firmly in control and setting them on course for their first Premier League away win of the season.
Beyond the goal and assist, the 19-year-old displayed calmness, intelligence, and maturity, traits Howe praised afterwards.
Howe highlighted Newcastle’s long-standing strength from set pieces, noting that the team had been unfortunate not to score more from them this season.
With Thiaw inadvertently heading in twice, set plays proved decisive, and Howe was pleased to see Miley at the heart of that threat.
The head coach also commended Miley’s temperament, describing him as remarkably composed for his age and continually improving both physically and technically.
While breaking into a competitive midfield remains a significant challenge, Howe believes the teenager is fully capable of earning more minutes.
Miley’s assured performance meant Newcastle never felt the absence of Tonali. His task now is to maintain this level and give Howe a genuine selection dilemma moving forward.
