Report: Leicester City plotting £10m move for winger compared to Alexis Sanchez

The transfer window is shut, but Leicester City are already scouting summer targets.

Leicester City made just one signing last month, as the club’s hierarchy faced criticism for their limited transfer activity.

Woyo Coulibaly, who impressed against Arsenal, was the sole addition, despite manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s desire to strengthen four key positions.

With Premier League survival uncertain, Leicester are already planning for next season and are reportedly eyeing a rising Chilean talent.

Leicester City Transfer News: Foxes Preparing Bid for Dario Osorio

Leicester are in dire need of quality wingers. Stephy Mavididi, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Jordan Ayew have struggled for form, while Abdul Fatawu’s injury and Sunderland’s interest in Kasey McAteer could further weaken their options.

According to Alan Nixon’s latest Patreon update, Leicester are preparing a £10m bid for Chile international Dario Osorio.

The young winger, who joined Danish side Midtjylland after impressing at Universidad de Chile, is seen as ready for a Premier League move.

The 21-year-old has already made 13 appearances for Chile over three years, making him eligible for a work permit.

Leicester’s ability to secure his signing would be stronger if they remain in the top flight, but even in the event of relegation, parachute payments could help finance the deal.

Dario Osorio Compared to Alexis Sanchez

Being likened to Alexis Sanchez is one of the highest compliments for a Chilean footballer.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona star was a key figure for Chile throughout his career, and as he nears retirement, Osorio is being seen as a potential successor.

According to The Athletic, Osorio possesses a “dangerous left foot” and excels in tight spaces.

His style of play has drawn comparisons to Sanchez, who himself has spoken highly of the young winger.

In 2024, Sanchez praised Osorio, saying: “Dario has a lot of personality, and that is important. You need that to play for the national team and at the highest level.

Gary Medel and Arturo Vidal once had it, and he has it, too.”

Leicester’s pursuit of Osorio signals their intent to strengthen their squad, whether in the Premier League or the Championship, as they look to rebuild for the future.
