“Newcastle Set Mammoth Asking Price for Alexander Isak”

Newcastle United have reportedly placed a staggering £150 million price tag on their in-form striker Alexander Isak, according to The Telegraph.

The Magpies signed the 25-year-old Swedish forward from Real Sociedad in 2022 for £63 million, making him the club’s record signing.

Isak has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 11 goals in 16 Premier League games. Only Mohamed Salah (16), Erling Haaland (13), and Cole Palmer (12) have scored more.

His performances have attracted interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, as well as European giants PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.

Despite the attention, Newcastle remain confident in retaining their star striker.

The club is said to be “relaxed” about the situation, and Isak has expressed his satisfaction at Tyneside.

However, Chelsea reportedly inquired about his availability after Enzo Maresca’s appointment, only to be met with the hefty £150 million valuation.

Arsenal have long been linked with Isak, while Liverpool may enter the fray if Mohamed Salah does not extend his contract.

Meanwhile, PSG, Madrid, and Barcelona are also monitoring the striker closely.

Earning £120,000 per week, Isak has three and a half years remaining on his current contract.

Although contract extension talks were postponed earlier this year, Newcastle are keen to keep him.

Negotiations broke down in October, with Isak’s camp reportedly concerned about the club’s progress, particularly regarding Champions League ambitions.

Following Newcastle’s 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town on December 21, manager Eddie Howe addressed the speculation surrounding Isak.

“There’s no part of me or anyone at Newcastle that wants to let Alex go.

I would love for him to contribute to us winning a trophy,” Howe stated.
