“Newcastle United DESPERATE to Snag Spanish U21 SUPERSTAR Who HUMILIATED England in Euros Showdown!”
Newcastle United Set to Officially Welcome Spanish Starlet Antonio Cordero Next Week

A new report from Spain suggests that Newcastle United are still actively pursuing young Spanish talent, with Valencia defender César Tárrega now on their radar, according to El Desmarque (via Sport Witness).
Tárrega, 23, recently featured for Spain’s U21 side in their 3-1 loss to England’s Young Lions. Despite the defeat, his individual performance has drawn attention from several European clubs.
Stats from Fotmob highlight his ability on the ball, with over 80 accurate passes per 90 minutes during the European Championships. Interestingly, he was also Spain’s joint-top scorer in the competition—with just one goal.

The report names Newcastle and Serie A side Bologna as interested parties, while also noting that other Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation.
However, any potential move looks far from straightforward. Tárrega is under contract at Valencia until 2028 and is reportedly open to extending his stay at the club, according to Sport Witness.
Given his age, Eddie Howe would likely expect Tárrega to compete for a first-team place immediately.
Still, with more established targets like Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi believed to be higher on Newcastle’s wishlist, Tárrega may not be a priority.
Ultimately, while there is some interest, the transfer seems unlikely at this stage. It’s unclear whether Tárrega is even on Newcastle’s formal shortlist, making this a potential non-starter.
Nonetheless, he could be a name to watch in the future should circumstances change.
