Since leaving Wolves, Trincão has rediscovered his form, earning a recall to the Portugal national team and catching the attention of numerous European clubs.

Newcastle’s interest in him is reportedly shared by Manchester United, who may have an edge given that their new manager, Rúben Amorim, previously coached Trincão at Sporting.

Additionally, The Mirror reports that Barcelona inserted a buy-back clause in his contract when selling him to Sporting. The Spanish club could now consider reactivating it.

Trincão has contributed to 24 goals this season, making him a valuable asset.

His estimated price tag of £30 million puts him within Newcastle’s financial reach.

Former youth coach José Carvalho Araújo once described him as “magic,” further highlighting his potential.

Given that Newcastle have been linked with a £50 million move for Mbeumo, paying £20 million less for Trincão could be an attractive option.

However, the club’s final decision will depend on where he ranks on Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe’s list of priorities.
