“Newcastle United in CRISIS! £35M Star CRUSHED in HORRIFIC Fulham Clash – Season in JEOPARDY!”

Newcastle hit with fresh injury worry after brutal collision at the Leazes End

Newcastle United suffered a major setback during their Premier League clash with Fulham at St James’ Park this afternoon, as key defender Sven Botman was forced off following a nasty head injury.

The incident occurred in the 56th minute, shortly after Newcastle had seen their 1–0 advantage slip away.

Fulham’s Sasa Lukić rose highest to meet a cross, heading the ball in off the bar to equalise, but in doing so, he clashed heads heavily with Botman.

The Dutch centre-back immediately went down and required several minutes of on-field treatment from the medical team.

After being carefully assessed, it was decided that Botman could not continue.

He was helped off the field, holding an ice pack to the back of his head, before being escorted to the dressing room for further evaluation.

Manager Eddie Howe promptly brought on Fabian Schär, who made his first appearance since October 1 against Union SG, to fill the gap in defence.

In the aftermath of the collision, Howe also opted to refresh his lineup, introducing Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes in place of Lewis Miley and Jacob Murphy.

Murphy, who had earlier put Newcastle in front, was substituted shortly after missing a key opportunity to double the lead.
