Sources: Leeds Set to Sign Two Forwards Following Clarke Update

Leeds United Aiming to Secure Winger and Striker Before Transfer Deadline, Sources Inform Football Insider

Leeds United have been significantly impacted by the recent departures of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter and are now focusing on new signings.

With the summer transfer window closing on August 30, Leeds’ priority is to bolster their attacking options.

Summerville and Rutter combined for 50 goal contributions (goals and assists) in the 2023-24 Championship season, and replacing their output is crucial for Daniel Farke’s promotion ambitions.

One of their targets is Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, who began his career at Elland Road before moving to Tottenham in 2019.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are considering a dramatic move to re-sign Clarke, especially after he turned down a new contract with Sunderland.

Clarke, who is contracted until June 2026, scored 15 goals last season and has already netted once this term.

In their recent matches, Leeds fielded Wilfried Gnonto, Mateo Joseph, and Daniel James as their front three during a 0-0 draw against West Brom on August 17.

The Whites have drawn both of their Championship fixtures so far and were eliminated from the League Cup following a 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough last week.
