Report: Premier League Club Poised to Renew Interest in Leeds Attacker After New Transfer is Finalized

According to reports on Wednesday (24 July), Everton will soon be able to focus on new targets, including the Italian international, once Jesper Lindstrom completes his imminent loan move to Merseyside.

Wilfried Gnonto remains a top priority for Sean Dyche’s side this summer, and he is reportedly keen on joining Everton.

The club still has funds available following Amadou Onana’s £50 million transfer to Aston Villa. However, Everton is not prepared to overpay for the 20-year-old, which could make negotiations challenging.

Leeds United have already seen high-profile departures this summer, with Archie Gray and Glen Kamara leaving Elland Road.

Despite this, more exits could follow, but Leeds is not eager to lose Gnonto or Crysencio Summerville unless their asking prices are met. In the Championship, every player has a price, and if it is reached, a move is possible.

However, Daniel Farke’s side can afford to stand firm on their valuation since they do not urgently need to raise funds. This stance might help them retain the Italian international for a few more months.

If Everton is unwilling to meet Leeds’ demands, the club could increase their asking price to potentially price the Toffees out of the deal. The downside of this approach is that it might leave Gnonto disappointed if the transfer falls through.

It will be interesting to see if an official offer for the winger is made once Lindstrom’s move to Everton is finalized in the coming days.
