According to a report from The Times, the Hammers may be willing to cash in on the Greek international this summer.

If Mavropanos were to leave, Lopetegui would likely need to bring in another center-back, as relying on Kurt Zouma or Nayef Aguerd as backups to Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman may not be feasible for the upcoming season.

Mavropanos, while a strong center-back at times, has also been inconsistent, often making costly mistakes.

The 26-year-old joined West Ham from Stuttgart last summer for around £20 million, but his performances have been hit-and-miss.

For every solid display, there has been a poor one, with notable errors leading to goals conceded in matches against Crystal Palace and Brentford, costing West Ham valuable points.

Despite his inconsistency, Mavropanos possesses undeniable talent, with The Athletic even describing him as an “exceptionally good” player.

With the right coaching from Lopetegui and his staff, he could still develop into a crucial player for the Hammers.

Given the club’s significant spending this summer, it wouldn’t be surprising if West Ham decided to sell Mavropanos if a good offer comes in for him.
