Reinforcements in attack appear to be a particular focus. Manager Eddie Howe masterminded a hugely successful 2023/24 season—guiding Newcastle back into the UEFA Champions League and securing a Carabao Cup victory—but he’ll be eager to avoid a repeat of last summer’s frustrating transfer window.

With competition intensifying at both domestic and European levels, squad depth is essential.

While Newcastle are expected to return with improved offers for Pedro, Elanga, and Trafford, they have also prepared an alternative plan.

As for Elanga, his situation differs slightly. The Sweden international, who plays predominantly on the right wing, would not directly compete with Rashford or Pedro.
