Newcastle United Take Lead in Race for “Fearless” Forward This Summer

Newcastle United are now leading the chase to sign a “fearless” forward during the upcoming transfer window, according to a fresh report.

Newcastle Prioritising Attacking Reinforcements

While Eddie Howe is expected to strengthen his squad across multiple positions, bolstering the attack is a clear priority ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Although Alexander Isak looks increasingly likely to stay at St. James’ Park, Newcastle are still keen to add more depth and firepower up front.

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo remains a primary target for the Magpies, especially to reinforce the right-wing position. This comes despite Jacob Murphy having a standout 2024/25 campaign in that role.

Mbeumo’s form has been exceptional, having scored 20 Premier League goals last season — a tally bettered only by Mohamed Salah, Isak, and Erling Haaland.

However, a new update suggests Newcastle are also exploring alternatives. According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus is viewed as a strong backup option.

“Newcastle can afford Kudus,” O’Rourke stated. “At the moment, Mbeumo is their main target for the right side of the attack, but Kudus is admired by people within the club.

They believe he could significantly strengthen their offensive options. He has a release clause of around £75 million, but due to West Ham’s current situation, Newcastle and others believe they could secure him for less.”

Magpies Eye Move for Moise Kean

In a separate development, Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo, via Sport Witness, reports that Newcastle are now in a strong position to sign Fiorentina striker Moise Kean.

The Italian forward has a £44 million release clause, and the Magpies are said to be “very interested” in bringing him in.

Napoli are also monitoring the situation, having reportedly made an enquiry.

Kean could be a smart addition to Howe’s squad — a younger, more dynamic alternative to veteran Callum Wilson and a capable backup or partner to Isak.

Although his first spell in the Premier League with Everton was underwhelming, yielding just two goals in 32 appearances, Kean has developed significantly since then.

During his time at Paris Saint-Germain, manager Thomas Tuchel described him as both “fearless” and “courageous.”

Now a more polished and mature player, Kean has earned 21 caps and scored seven times for Italy.

This past season, he netted 19 goals in 31 Serie A starts for Fiorentina, underlining his growing reputation as a prolific striker.

At 25, Kean is entering his prime, and signing him could ease the scoring burden on Isak while giving Newcastle another dangerous option in the final third.
