Newcastle’s main transfer target not interested in move to St James’ Park

Jarrod Bowen, currently with the England squad at Euro 2024, had an outstanding season for West Ham, scoring 16 Premier League goals and helping the Hammers secure a top-half finish.

The England international is under contract at the London Stadium until 2030, but his performances have caught the eye of several clubs, including Newcastle and Liverpool.

Despite this interest, Bowen is not keen on joining Newcastle. The Magpies, having ensured compliance with profit and sustainability rules through the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson, are now focusing on strengthening their squad, which missed out on European football last season.

Newcastle is known to be in the market for attacking reinforcements, considering players like Bowen and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.

Since joining West Ham from Hull City in 2020, Bowen has become a crucial player for the Hammers, making 202 appearances, scoring 60 goals, and providing 39 assists.

HITC reports that Bowen is happy at the London Stadium and “uninterested” in moving to St James’ Park, even with a lucrative offer from the northeast.

With Miguel Almiron seemingly set to join the Saudi Pro League, Newcastle has identified the 27-year-old Bowen as one of their main targets.

However, HITC adds that West Ham would likely demand a fee of more than £100 million for Bowen, a figure likely beyond Newcastle’s budget.

Consequently, Eddie Howe’s side may need to explore alternative options for a right winger. A move for Madueke also appears challenging, as Chelsea is unlikely to part ways with the England under-21 international.
