Trevor Sikkema, a Pro Football Focus analyst, recently unveiled his three-round mock draft, projecting the Denver Broncos to focus on bolstering their roster with offensive and defensive talent.
Sikkema anticipates the Broncos making a strategic move by trading down from their 12th overall pick to acquire quarterback Bo Nix from Auburn with the 22nd selection, facilitated through a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Subsequently, with the second-round pick acquired from the Eagles, Sikkema foresees the Broncos drafting Marshawn Kneeland, a pass rusher from Western Michigan, at the 53rd overall spot.
In the third round, Sikkema predicts Denver to secure Khyree Jackson, a center from Oregon, with the 76th pick. Despite the team’s recent acquisition of Sam Mustipher, reducing the urgency for a center, Sikkema views Jackson as a valuable addition to the Broncos’ roster.
Of all the selections, Nix appears to be the most promising prospect for the Broncos’ future endeavors. Following the departure of Russell Wilson and the failed pursuit to acquire him, Denver is in dire need of a quarterback. Nix, renowned for setting the NCAA record for pass completion percentage in a season, could seamlessly integrate into Coach Payton’s precision-oriented offensive scheme, providing stability and efficiency to the team’s passing game.
