Jack Harrison is set to join Everton on loan for the season from Leeds United, as revealed by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Joe Donnohue reported on the newspaper’s online edition (19 June) that the Toffees will cover the winger’s full wage throughout the season. This move will allow Leeds to make their own summer additions to the squad.
The deal is straightforward due to the 27-year-old’s active loan release clause this summer. An official announcement from both clubs is expected soon. Given the release clause, Daniel Farke had little choice but to let Harrison depart this summer.
Harrison’s recent injury struggles could impact his value ahead of a potential permanent deal next season. However, his positive spell at Goodison Park last season prompted Sean Dyche to bring him back quickly.
Leeds fans may have hoped to keep Harrison to boost their Championship campaign. Daniel Farke might also hope Harrison has a strong season with Everton, potentially enhancing his value for a return to Elland Road next year.
If Leeds are not promoted, they could still sell Harrison for a useful fee if he performs well at Everton.
