“‘Oh Dear’ – talkSPORT Pundit Reacts Live to Proposed Dyche Replacement at Everton”
"Jason Cundy Reacts to Fan Suggesting Martin O’Neill as Preferred Everton Manager Over Sean Dyche"

Everton’s manager, Sean Dyche, has faced criticism from pundits and fans alike after a tough start to the season at Goodison Park, with some speculating that he could lose his job following recent takeover developments.
Dyche alleviated some of the pressure with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday (28 September), but one fan quickly suggested Martin O’Neill would be a better choice for Everton.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (30 September, 23:15), the fan said: “If I’m talking about Everton, I want Dyche gone. I’d rather have Martin O’Neill in.”
Cundy responded: “Oh dear, you just won at the weekend.”
The question now is whether Everton will dismiss Dyche after the developments at Goodison Park.
While Dyche’s tenure has divided opinions, it seems misguided to suggest replacing him with O’Neill, who has been out of work since 2019.
O’Neill was a successful Premier League manager in his prime, particularly during his time at Aston Villa, but his last managerial role was years ago, and football has evolved significantly since then.
Dyche’s role may come under further scrutiny, especially once the Friedkin Group finalizes their takeover of Everton [i News, 23 September].
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean he will be sacked immediately.
Unless a clear, better replacement is available, Everton should stick with Dyche for now.
He remains as capable as anyone of keeping the team in the Premier League this season.
The coming weeks and months at Goodison Park are sure to bring significant changes, and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds for both Dyche and the club.
