Postecoglou was expected to rotate heavily for the FA Cup third-round clash against Tamworth at the Lamb Ground on 12 January, with several players in line for their Spurs debuts. However, the Australian opted for a relatively strong starting XI.
Given the strength of the lineup, many fans anticipated Tottenham would dominate by halftime.
Yet, Spurs failed to score in the first half, leaving Postecoglou in a precarious position and needing to make changes to avoid a major upset.

Failure to progress to the FA Cup fourth round could spell the end of Postecoglou’s tenure at Spurs.
With the scoreline level and Tamworth creating the better chances, the second half is critical for the manager’s future.
Among Tottenham’s attacking players, only James Maddison has shown some intent, forcing a couple of saves from Tamworth goalkeeper Jasbir Singh.
In contrast, Timo Werner has been largely invisible and does not merit returning for the second half.
According to Sofascore, Werner contributed just a couple of key passes and created one big chance — the bare minimum against non-league opposition.
Despite playing as the primary striker, he managed only one blocked shot. His dribbling success rate was zero, he lost all three ground duels, and he gave the ball away eight times.
Werner’s performance was woeful and risks not only Spurs’ FA Cup campaign but also Postecoglou’s job.
If the lackluster display continues after the break, the repercussions could be severe for both the team and the manager.
