With interest from clubs that may offer European football, Delap might find it hard to turn down such opportunities.
However, from a developmental standpoint, a move to Everton could serve him better.

Despite their financial challenges, Everton currently sit above Manchester United in the Premier League.
United have had a poor season and have struggled to integrate young forwards, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both facing form dips after promising starts.
At Everton, Delap would likely enjoy more regular playing time and less pressure.
Under David Moyes, the club is building a more stable foundation, and Delap could thrive as a key figure in that project.
Joining Everton would also mark a symbolic moment as they prepare to move into their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock, where Delap could become a headline signing.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, despite offering potential European football, have not been the easiest club for young attackers to flourish, with Nicolas Jackson already occupying the striker role.
