Opinion: Everton might have already identified the ideal replacement for Sean Dyche

Everton currently sit nineteenth in the Premier League with just one point, earned in their 1-1 draw against Leicester on 21 September.

The past few years have been challenging for the club and manager Sean Dyche, with the team narrowly surviving last season despite two points deductions.

Given the recent poor form, it’s not surprising that Dyche’s future could be decided by October 10, with several candidates already being linked to replace the 53-year-old manager.

One prominent name is Carlos Corberan, West Brom’s manager, who has his team performing strongly at the top of the Championship.

Corberan has previously been linked with Everton, and while other clubs are also showing interest in the Spaniard, Everton is reported to be particularly keen.

Chris Lepkowski expressed concern over this interest, admitting it was “absolutely” something to watch out for.

Since taking over at The Hawthorns, the former Huddersfield Town manager has revitalized West Brom.

Last season, he guided them to the Championship playoffs, and this season they are again among the top contenders.

While there’s still time for Dyche to potentially turn things around, especially with the possibility of new ownership, now might feel like the right moment for a change.

Everton’s move to their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season makes their Premier League survival even more crucial.
