West Ham could enter a ‘Legal Minefield’ over Lucas Paqueta allegations – report

The Hammers are reportedly in a weak legal position if they choose to suspend Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta prematurely, following his alleged involvement in spot-fixing charges, according to a report published on Tuesday, 8 October.

However, Brazil’s national team could suspend the attacking midfielder from international duties without legal risks, as they aren’t subject to the same employment laws as club teams.

Paqueta, accused of intentionally receiving a booking in the Premier League, has denied the allegations.

West Ham’s options regarding Paqueta’s future at the London Stadium seem limited while his case remains unresolved.
