Moyes sets his sights on Europe

Moyes has been clear about his ambitions. He refuses to settle for mid-table safety, instead targeting a European place, similar to the success he enjoyed at West Ham United.

“We had an incredible time at West Ham, winning a European trophy,” Moyes told BBC Sport. “Now, back at Everton, I want to set similar goals here.

In my earlier spell as Everton manager, we reached Europe fairly regularly, and I feel it has to be one of our targets again.

“With a new stadium on the horizon, plenty of positive developments, and new owners coming in, there’s a lot to be excited about. We might not achieve it immediately, but we have to aim to get back to those levels.”
