“Player Set to Travel to England on Wednesday for Leicester City Medical After Foxes’ Bid Accepted”
On Tuesday, we reported that KRC Genk rejected Leicester City’s offer of €20 million plus €3 million in bonuses for Bilal El Khannouss.
Later that day, Het Laatste Nieuws indicated that Leicester was nearing a deal with Genk worth approximately €25 million.
El Khannouss, an attacking midfielder eager to join Leicester, refused to train in an effort to push through the move.
According to the latest update from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, it appears his efforts are about to pay off.
Tavolieri announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Leicester’s latest bid has been accepted for the 20-year-old.
The deal includes €23 million plus €3 million in bonuses, as well as 15% of any future sale.
Although the fixed fee is slightly lower than Genk’s initial asking price, the club accepted the offer due to more favorable payment terms.
El Khannouss has already agreed to a four-year contract with Leicester under Steve Cooper.
Tavolieri also stated that the player would travel to England on Wednesday to finalize his move to the King Power Stadium.
In another update on X, Tavolieri mentioned that the Morocco international would arrive in Manchester on Wednesday morning.
He is then expected to undergo medical tests with Leicester and finalize the contract signing.
