West Ham Prepared to Complete Pre-Agreed Permanent Transfer – Report

West Ham Begin Talks to Secure Carlos Soler on a Permanent Deal from PSG, Reports Le Parisien

The French source [20 December] reported that Carlos Soler’s current deal at West Ham does not include an obligation-to-buy clause.

However, the Hammers are thrilled with his performances so far.

It is believed that West Ham and PSG agreed on a purchase option worth up to £16.6 million (€20 million), which the East London club could activate in the coming weeks.

West Ham United to Sign Carlos Soler Permanently?

Initially, many fans were skeptical about Soler’s signing due to his inconsistent stint in Ligue 1.

However, he has thrived under Julen Lopetegui’s guidance, becoming a standout player.

Although Soler is suspended for the Irons’ home clash against Brighton on Saturday, 21 December, the 27-year-old Spaniard has been a crucial addition to the squad.

Despite having only one goal contribution, his influence is undeniable.

Soler has even been chosen over fan favorite Lucas Paquetá in midfield, highlighting his impressive form. By contrast, Paquetá’s performances have been disappointing.

Missing Soler against Brighton will be a setback, but securing him permanently for just over £16 million seems like an easy decision for January.

While Tim Steidten faced criticism for summer signings like Niclas Füllkrug and Luis Guilherme, completing Soler’s permanent transfer could restore some faith in his recruitment.

Players like Edson Álvarez and Guido Rodríguez have struggled to secure starting roles, but Soler’s energy and enthusiasm have set him apart.

Although less defensive than the others, his versatility and impact make him invaluable.

At £16.6 million, Soler is a bargain given his ability to play across midfield and even at right-back. His performances have already made a lasting impression.
