Postecoglou Provides Update on Son’s Fitness and Spurs Injury Status Ahead of Ferencvaros Match

Ange Postecoglou has announced that Son Heung-min will miss Tottenham’s Europa League match against Ferencvaros, as he remains in London.

The Spurs captain started last Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Qarabag but was substituted in the 71st minute due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the game.

Son’s injury raised concerns about his fitness ahead of the clash against Manchester United. Ultimately, he did not participate in the 3-0 victory at Old Trafford after being excluded from the matchday squad.

Postecoglou had noted that Son “just wasn’t right for today.”

As Tottenham prepares to face Ferencvaros in Budapest on Thursday, Postecoglou provided an update on Son’s condition and also mentioned that Destiny Udogie is remaining in London.

“Sonny and Destiny are back in London,” Postecoglou said in an interview with SPURSPLAY. “They’re working away, but they’re not available for this one.

Everyone else from the weekend got through the game and is good to go.”

In his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou clarified that Udogie’s injury, which caused him to leave the match against Manchester United early, is “nothing significant.”

He explained, “Destiny hasn’t travelled. Nothing significant, but it didn’t make sense to bring him if he wasn’t going to play.”

Additionally, he confirmed that Radu Dragusin is suspended while Son continues his rehabilitation in London.
