Postecoglou Shares Injury Update on Udogie for Tottenham and Italy

Destiny Udogie was unavailable for Tottenham’s Europa League clash against Ferencvaros on Thursday, but head coach Ange Postecoglou confirmed the Italy international is expected to be fit for their Premier League match against Brighton on Sunday.

Udogie missed Tottenham’s 2-1 away win over Ferencvaros but is likely to return for the upcoming league fixture.

In a press conference ahead of the Brighton game, Postecoglou offered an injury update on the 21-year-old left-back, saying, “We think Destiny will be okay [for the next match].

He has training today and tomorrow, so he needs to get through that.”

This suggests Udogie will also be available for Italy’s international matches against Belgium and Israel during the October break.

La Gazzetta dello Sport listed Udogie among the players likely to be selected for the Azzurri’s upcoming games under coach Luciano Spalletti.

Udogie made his senior Italy debut a year ago in a 4-0 win over Malta and has earned five caps for the national team.

In his most recent appearances, he came off the bench to play against Israel and France, providing an assist in the match against Les Bleus.
