“I’m going for it”: Paul Merson predicts the score for the Leicester City vs. Nottingham Forest match.

Leicester City resumes Premier League action tonight.

Leicester City will host Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium tonight, aiming for their third straight victory.

A win for Steve Cooper’s team would move them nine points clear of the relegation zone and potentially into 12th place.

Ahead of this East Midlands derby, Paul Merson shared his prediction.

In his Sportskeeda column, Merson wrote, “I like Steve Cooper despite the early criticism he faced. Leicester are a team that can get results.

They’ll likely finish above Ipswich Town and Southampton, but they need to find another team to overtake, which won’t be easy.

“Even though Wolves are currently low in the standings, they’re better than they appear. Same with Everton; they usually manage to escape relegation.

Leicester’s main concern is finding another team they can surpass in the table.

I think this is a tough game for them, as Forest is strong on the road and effective on the counter-attack. I’m predicting a draw here.”

Merson’s score prediction for the match is 1-1.

Meanwhile, Steve Cooper is expected to start Abdul Fatawu tonight.

SOUTHAMPTON, ENGLAND – OCTOBER 19: Steve Cooper, Manager of Leicester City, acknowledges the fans after the Premier League match between Southampton FC and Leicester City FC at St Mary’s Stadium on October 19, 2024 in Southampton, England.

The Ghanaian winger impressed off the bench against Southampton and could be a key player for Forest, along with Harry Winks, who also made a strong impact in his recent appearance.

A third consecutive win could be significant for Cooper, potentially putting Forest well out of the relegation discussion early on in the season.

An intriguing evening lies ahead.
