Promising Talent Completes Transfer to West Ham Following Manchester United Release
West Ham United Signs Majid Balogun, Former Manchester United Academy Graduate

Balogun revealed his transfer on Instagram on Thursday (July 11), sharing a photo of himself signing his contract with the caption “back to it.”
The 16-year-old striker had joined Manchester United from Lambeth Tigers in 2022 and was included on the U18s bench once last season before his departure. Now at West Ham, he aims for more opportunities to showcase his potential.
West Ham may have unearthed a hidden gem in Majid Balogun. Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, Manchester United’s academy has consistently produced top-tier talent, from Marcus Rashford to Paul Pogba and recently Kobe Mainoo, establishing itself as a breeding ground for football excellence.
Despite displaying promise at Manchester United, Balogun did not receive a professional contract offer. Nonetheless, at only 16 years old, he has ample time to develop and could thrive within West Ham’s framework.
While Manchester United has seen numerous academy graduates break into the first team, West Ham anticipates that Balogun, a potentially overlooked talent, will shine for the Hammers.
The East London club is renowned for nurturing young talent, making it an ideal environment for Balogun to flourish and realize his full potential.
Balogun possesses both talent and a strong determination to prove himself. Now settled at his new club, all eyes will be on him to see how he tackles this fresh challenge.
